Instructional Design Specialist

Instructional Design team members create and deliver instructionally sound and highly engaging learning content that is used for the purposes of improving how Parexel delivers to our client needs and achieves Parexel’s overall business objectives.

Employees at this level are beginning to develop the core competencies required to perform all of the key tasks within their role and as such are taking on small to mid-sized projects. They are working to develop a well-rounded functional and technical skillset. Employees work closely with their manager and can often be mentored by other senior level staff members.
Training Design: Demonstrates an appreciation and basic understanding of good design methodology with a focus on quality and adult learning principles.
Demonstrate consistent competence in producing high-quality training deliverables that map to the agreed training design and meets or exceeds expectations.
Capable of taking a design outline that has been agreed with a client and creating the expected learning product within the parameters of the design, within the required timelines and with the right tools. Up to date on “cutting edge” tools and methods of learning. When appropriate, contributes ideas to improve the design and asserts new methods and tools where appropriate. Demonstrate capability in producing technical content within the training materials being developed.
Is able to develop best in class instructional materials, per the design blueprint into a final training deliverable using the development modality that was specified (eLearning, ILT, Mobile, etc).
Understands and applies techniques when initiating, planning, coordinating, and deploying a learning-based organization support system; components include an understanding of adult learning theory, needs/skills assessment, linking learning to business strategy, formal and informal learning architecture development, courseware design and delivery, and learning evaluation and metrics.

Graphic Design: Accountable for the visual and functional aspects of learning deliverables and ability to apply them to a project or program. Graphic Design is a key aspect of what we do! This is why candidates at this level can provide graphical and functional advice to the design lead on possible training solutions for the business.

Quality Assurance: Work with Lead Designer to perform QA on all design & development package deliverables completed by you to ensure it meets the final expectations and passes Parexel standards.
