Job Purpose:
The Director – Business operations is responsible for managing Cycle times of contracts would be leading a large team of Contract Specialist .

Key Accountabilities:

DepartmentSupporting Activities
Delivery Lead staff to achieve department business objectives
Quality review and audit of processes
Assists staff in developing negotiation strategies
Negotiates business deals as necessary to support PAREXEL business
Participates in client meetings to discuss overall PAREXEL procedures and policies
Maintains strong relationship with Project Management, Business Development, Legal and Finance
Identifies resource needs, facilitates acquisition of needed resources, and manages resource plan
Staff training and development
Customize PAREXEL templates to meet client template requirements
Leads the development and testing of tools and procedures
Develop and conduct training to Contract Management staff and other teams
Utilizes systems for reporting purposes and metrics
Deliver to pre-agreed metrics and budget
Team Management
  • Define and organize effective operating structures to meet the changing needs of the business
  • Balance resource supply and demand
  • Ensure that all staff are suitably qualified and experienced to undertake the work required
  • Mentor and develop junior staff
Process
  • Continually monitor and improve team effectiveness through the practical implementation of leadership experience
Business operations
  • Work with the VP Business Operations to define the Contracts and Proposals Business strategy
Local leadership
  • Depending on the location of this role it may be the case that the holder of this role will take on a regional leadership role. This would include dealing with local site / country leadership, taking overall responsibility of resourcing, organization and staffing outside of their direct delivery portfolio and having a wider local governance responsibility.


Skills:
Strong Leadership within Global Pharmaceutical or Clinical Research customer needs
Proven negotiator at senior levels
Comprehensive knowledge of cash flow and revenue recognition
Highly organized with excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Comprehensive knowledge of relevant software (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, Databases)

Education
Bachelors Degree in Life Science, Business or equivalent. MBA, Ph.D., J.D. or equivalent
preferred

Language Skills

Fluent in English, oral and written

Minimum Work Experience

Comprehensive knowledge of proposal and contract management with extensive previous
experience in proposal development or contract administration
Experience in CRO or pharmaceutical field preferred
Previous experience in management of staff and ability to coordinate workflow

Qualifications

Education
 Bachelors Degree in Life Science, Business or equivalent. MBA, Ph.D., J.D. or equivalent

Language Skills
 Fluent in English, oral and written
