Consultative Sales Director

PAREXEL Biotech takes a consultative approach to develop tailored strategies that help companies achieve their objectives throughout the journey from discovery, proof of concept, development, registration and ultimately commercialization.

PAREXEL Biotech Connect is focused on the right level of engagement with our most complex biotech customers. The focus of this team will be to grow business within our Connected Alliances while focusing on break in strategies for Biotech targets to create loyalty. The key is investing in our Connected Alliances and generating value for these customers that ultimately build trust and directly lead to the growth of our backlog

The focus is growing our Connected relationships through a consultative approach combined with account management, strategic account planning and comprehensive engagement model. We are committed to service our customers’ in an integrated manner across the company and provide them with easier access to the right expertise at PAREXEL.

This role works closely with Commercial Operations, Delivery, Solutions Consultants, Executive Leadership Team and others to support our Customers’ needs. Requirements include but are not limited to:

Growth/Sales
• Responsible for identifying, targeting, and securing new business across all SBUs, through professional, consultative, proactive sales activities directed at decision-makers and decision influencers
• Plan and coordinate all designated customer sales activities: One PAREXEL
• Anticipate client questions; uncover clients’ unique needs and become the focal point for discussing, representing and selling PAREXEL’s integrated solutions across all SBUs
• Lead proposal strategy and development in collaboration with a cross functional/organization team
• Actively prospect within designated customer for new business opportunities
• Develop closing strategy plan for ongoing opportunities and lead initial contract negotiations

Relationship and Account Management
• Overall objective: maintain high visibility within the customer organization: be present
• Cultivate strong, long term relationships with key decision makers within designated accounts and develop deep knowledge of the customer’s organization
• Establish PAREXEL brand knowledge at the designated customers’
• Work closely across all of PAREXEL to ensure no gaps exist in how we are supporting active accounts
• Own communication internally to sales and corporate leadership as appropriate to drive organizational support for designated customer needs
• Work closely with delivery to ensure we are meeting customer expectations on performance

Qualifications

This individual will support delivery in understanding the impact of communication and information sharing against broader portfolio of business. They will support in CIS/CO negotiations and customer communication

Strategic Account Planning
• Provide strategic planning, direction and lead business/strategic development initiatives for designated customer
• Maintain living account plan for designated customers
• Match the customer's pipeline and corporate initiative needs to PAREXEL’s solution as part of strategic business growth
• Lead review of customer pipeline, pending opportunities and potential future customer needs with account delivery leadership to ensure proper resourcing planning

Alliance Management (if applicable)
• Lead the development of the rightsized engagement/oversight model: working with the designated customer to establish clear expectations and needs
• Work with internal centers of expertise and delivery leadership in implementing the right tools and technologies to support the alliance needs
• Serve as a member/chair on established oversight committee(s)

Experience and Education
• We are looking for someone who has a proven sales track record of achieving/surpassing sales goals
• Ability to work independently and as team player; including complex, dynamic teams
• Excellent business/industry awareness and a thorough understanding of industry trends and impact on the business
• Strong consultative skills
• Solid understanding of commercialization and the principles of drug discovery and development
• Excellent analytical skills in assessing and interpreting customer business data
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships and to communicate at senior management level
• Demonstrated ability to influence others internally and externally
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, clients and customers
• Ability to maintain demanding timelines
• Adaptability and flexibility to changing priorities
• Demonstrated ability to work creatively in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and ability to work simultaneously on multiple priorities
• Prior Experience in B2B sales role, preferably in a CRO, Life Sciences Company or Consulting background specializing in Life Sciences
• Experience with drug development and Phase II/III services highly desirable
• Experience selling clinical services, market access services a plus
• Functional delivery experience a plus, not a necessity
• BS degree required, advanced degree preferred.

Ability to as required travel
