The Director, Cell and Gene Therapy will help to support Parexel’s global cross functional Cell and Gene Therapy Center of Excellence. The CoE will support and develop strategies to effectively deliver on our customer’s portfolios of projects in Cell and Gene Therapy.

Key Accountabilities:

  • The Director, Cell and Gene Therapy will work closely with the Vice President, Cell and Gene Therapy as well as Parexel’s Medical Franchise leaders, Proposal and Business Development teams and Customer Relations to ensure the successful delivery of the portfolio.
  • The Director will also directly support project teams and advise on effective conduct of Cell and Gene Therapy studies.
  • The position requires that the individual be able to work in a cross functional team responsible for creating and maintaining cross-departmental relationships, developing operational plans across the functions and monitoring, revisiting and evaluating progress towards achieving CoE goals.

Accountability

  • Help to support the cross functional, matrixed team of Cell and Gene Therapy experts across Parexel.
  • Support the targeted growth of New Business Awards in the Cell and Gene Therapy space.
  • Support the Center of Excellence budget framework and operational remits.
  • Ensure effective support of project teams delivering Cell and Gene Therapy studies with effective support processes, training, and oversight.
  • Ensure effective support to the proposals and business development teams to develop effective and innovative plans to deliver Cell and Gene Therapy Studies.
  • Ensure effective support during the sales process including support of bid defense meetings and budget reviews.
  • Help to support the Global Cell and Gene Therapy onboarding training for new employees.
  • Manage and report key business success metrics to the wider Clinical Development and Business Development teams.
  • Support thought leader (KOL/PAG) engagement plans for Global Cell and Gene Therapy CoE in conjunction and cooperation with cross-functional leads.
  • Support Cell and Gene Therapy CoE internal and external communications, including liaising with Corporate Communications for day-to-day management of social media presence for Cell and Gene Therapy CoE needs.
  • Support existing and develop new relationships with Cell and Gene Therapy advocacy organizations.
  • Act as the primary point person with the organization for delivery of Cell and Gene Therapy studies and portfolios of studies.

Skills:

  • Requisite scientific and clinical operations knowledge and ability to execute in Cell and Gene Therapy operational strategy, planning and development
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, public speaking, and leadership skills
  • Innovative and motivational mentality that affects and influences teams
  • Documented history of experience, performance, and success
  • Advanced education, training and experience in Cell and Gene therapy disciplines preferred

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Experience working in a Pharma or Biotech Environment
  • Experience working in a CRO environment
  • Knowledge of investigational Cell and Gene Therapy assets and experience in clinical trials

Education

Advanced Degree (Masters, PhD or Medical degree in a Medical/life science related field) preferred

Minimum Required

  • 7+ years of experience in Clinical Development
  • Experience working in a Pharma, Biotech or CRO environment
  • Experience supporting scientific conferences 
  • Bachelor’s Degree
