VP / SVP Strategic Pricing, Contracts and Proposals

Parexel has an exciting opportunity for a VP / SVP, Strategic Pricing to join our organization. The VP/SVP, Strategic Pricing will collaborate with the entire business to develop and operationalize unique commercial pricing strategies. In this role, you will collect and interpret multiple types of financial and operational data to support the Company’s pricing strategy across a portfolio of new business.  You will build detailed financial models that leverage internal systems to support the operational business units and executive management in pricing and partnership decisions.  The VP/SVP, Strategic Pricing plays a key role in shaping the objectives of the pricing organization and with developing new and innovative pricing models to support the business.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Collaborates with Business Development, Proposals and Therapeutic Business Units to develop tailored pricing solutions for key customers across all business units within Parexel

  • Develops high quality projection models that incorporate highly complex financial and operational data to support pricing strategy and decision making

  • Influences or is involved in achieving $250-$500m of annual new business. (NBA)

  • Produces high quality reporting and analysis to management, as well as ad hoc analyses and reports as directed

  • Tracks CRO industry trends to ensure that Parexel is positioned as the leader in developing and executing innovative commercial packages

  • Develops and presents materials that clearly articulate strategy to internal and external stakeholders at the senior most levels of the organization both internally and externally

  • Analyzes partnership opportunities with potential clinical development partners as well as ad-hoc partnership opportunities with other partners including service providers and research institutions

  • Attends customer meetings to present commercial strategy

  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned

  • Minimal travel required (up to 25%)

Skills:

  • Strong presentation skills and experience presenting to C-suite level

  • Highly capable Microsoft Excel skills

  • Strong presentation skills and highly proficient in Microsoft, PowerPoint

  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, organizational, interpersonal, and teamwork skills

  • Excellent financial, communication, and interpersonal skills as well as a high level of personal motivation to achieve

  • Ability to perform several tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines is necessary

Knowledge and Experience:

  • 12 - 15 years’ experience in senior Pricing Strategy roles or Financial modeling roles

  • 8 - 10 years’ experience in the CRO industry

  • Foundational knowledge of Direct Marketing, Market Segmentation, and/or Marketing Research

  • Moderate experience in finance, healthcare or related field and prior experience in customer facing positions

  • Project Management experience or previous pricing experience at a CRO highly preferred

  • Good knowledge of medical terminology, clinical data, and ICH/Good Clinical Practices

  • Experience building consolidated income statements, balance sheets, cash flow analysis and discounted cash flow valuation

  • Basic understanding of corporate accounting

Education:

  • Master’s degree in a business, finance, accounting, economics or related field, or economics or related field or equivalent education and experience
