Job Summary
The Senior Clinical Finance Analyst (SrCFA) is responsible for clinical financial and accounting processes in Clinical Development Operations (CDO), providing training to team members on clinical finance processes, and leading special projects as assigned, which may include, but are not limited to, the processing and reconciliation of invoices and payments to clinical investigator sites and vendors, creating reports for Corporate Finance and development departments, and ensuring current insurance information and documentation is conveyed appropriately to the insurance broker.
Job Responsibilities
Clinical Finance/Accounting
• Leads invoice approval and payments reconciliation process for clinical trials including global sites for CDO
• Manages the process approvals and payments for invoices submitted by clinical investigator sites, vendors, and Clinical Research Organizations (CROs)
• Leads the financial study closure process
• Maintains clinical financial reports
• Manages the invoice escalation process to appropriate individuals as needed
Training/Process Improvement
• Trains and supports team members on clinical finance processes
• Maintains the clinical finance training manual
• Identifies and develops appropriate written processes, SOPs, work practices and training guides
• Identifies opportunities to improve process efficiency
• Makes process improvement recommendations
• Develops and implements management tools for tracking payments
• Creates standardized template that benefits the CDO and Corporate Finance for decision making
Quality Control
• Leads monthly clinical Dashboard reports and performs quality checks
• Ensures documentation is maintained to support an internal/external financial audit
• Ensures consistency in site payment schedules and terms to facilitate the payment system
• Performs consistent quality audits of work output
• Performs monthly audits to ensure all insurance documents are on file
Clinical Trial Program Budget Development
• Standardizes templates for budget requests
• Drives budget assumptions
• Applies quarterly budget analysis data in development of standard costs algorithms for resources, major tasks, and 3rd party costs for all Client development functions
• Defines archival standards and creates library of records for all budgets generated for financial governance decisions
• Provides data for clinical trials budgeting and forecasting processes
• Administrator for the budget forecasting database
• Subject Mater Expert (SME) for budget forecasting
• Monitors and provides vendor’s Statement of Work (SOW) analysis
Other
• Identifies and maintains key data for management
• Identifies and prepares reports and presentations for management
• Supports annual review of the Client insurance policy
• Leads product liability insurance process for CDO clinical trials
• Coordinates insurance application for clinical trials insurance renewal
• Ensures annual renewal of insurance documents is maintained in a timely manner
Compliance with Parexel standards
• Complies with required training curriculum
• Completes timesheets accurately as required
• Submits expense reports as required
• Updates CV as required
• Maintains a working knowledge of and complies with Parexel processes, ICH-GCPs and other applicable requirements
Qualifications
Skills:
• Proficient in MS Office applications
• Demonstrated detail-oriented skills
• Demonstrated organizational and communication skills
• Ability to lead projects independently and to perform work without appreciable direction
• Proficiency in written and spoken English required
• Proficiency in local language as applicable
Knowledge and Experience:
• Five (5) or more years of financial experience including Accounts Payable and Accounts
Receivable or related experience in a biotech, CRO, finance and/or legal environment
• Experience with a payment system and processes
• Experience with financial analyses
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related financial discipline
