Job Introduction:

At Parexel, we are a leading Clinical Research Organization company specializing in delivering life-changing medicines to patients. We are seeking aPrincipal Vendor Management Analyst to join our team! As a Principal Vendor Management Analyst (VMA), you will represent Procurement at the study level and facilitate adherence to processes to ensure that vendors deliver quotes and proposals that are properly aligned with Sponsor protocol and study requirements.

Who we are looking for:

A dynamic problem solver who has experience working with vendors, in a management and/or oversight capacity. The incumbent will be responsible for and should have experience with analyzing study details and making informed recommendations on aligned and optimal vendor goods and services to be contracted under the remit of Parexel oversight.   This individual will be focusing attention on reconciling critical vendor proposals and contracting activities impacting study deliverables during the startup of the clinical trial lifecycle. You will continue to leverage your expertise during other phases, depending on study needs. Someone with excellent communication skills, as a background in customer focus with an account or project management background is important for this role.

What you'll do:

As a Principal Vendor Management Analyst (VMA) with Parexel, you will be responsible to fill gaps identified when project delivery team members are not available to action certain required vendor engagements. Following the completion of vendor engagement activities, the VMA will be responsible for seamless transition to appropriate assigned project delivery team members. Relationship management, negotiation support, influencing vendor contracting and being a strong representative for Parexel in Vendor and Sponsor meetings will be a big part of this Principal Vendor Management Analyst's role.

• Reconcile quotes during startup to ensure alignment to study needs, act as the point of accountability for new quote requests

• Coordinate and delivery notification of awards to selected vendors

• Act as a Procurement Subject Matter Expert in Post Award and Kickoff Meetings

• Deliver transition checklist of vendor startup activities to the Project Delivery Team or Vendor Management Lead upon their assignment

• Responsible for archival of vendor startup correspondence in the Trial Master File (TMF) when available

• Create, track and file applicable Vendor sections in the Project Management Plan

Additional details:

• Ideal candidates would have experience within the field of clinical vendor operational delivery (ex: Laboratories, Interactive Response Technology, Electronic Clinical Outcome Assessments, Translations) or hands on experience in the management of clinical vendor services.

• Minimum of 10-15 years CRO and/Strategic Procurement/Vendor Management

• Experience in managing the scoping of clinical vendor services for complex sponsor protocols and familiarity with vendor startup/operational activities during maintenance phase.

• Experience in working with multiple stakeholders, including sponsors, in the development and finalization of vendor scope of service

• Demonstrated experience in conducting difficult conversations and negotiating with sponsors as well as vendors

Education:

• Educated to a bachelor’s degree level

• Preferred background in a life science, pharmacy, health-related discipline, business administration, management, IT, Nursing or other relevant experience within clinical vendor management required.
