Meet Stella, a Clinical Feasibility Associate Director

"Being Parexel-born and bred, I'm forever thankful for the opportunities to grow my career with Parexel."

Stella, a woman in a red dress is standing by the sea.

Stella, Clinical Feasibility Associate Director at Parexel, began her career in clinical research when Parexel offered her a role as a Clinical Trials Assistant in 2006, despite having no prior industry experience. Before that, she worked in genetics, diagnostic, and research labs while completing her B. Med Sc. degree. Over the past 18 years, she has taken on various roles, including Clinical Research Associate, Clinical Operations Leader, Project Leader, and CRA Line Manager. About 2.5 years ago, she transitioned into feasibility as the APAC Site Feasibility Liaison Line Manager and recently advanced to her current role, continuing to grow and make an impact in the field.

What is it like to work as a Clinical Feasibility Director?

As a manager the performance and development of my team is number one. Having regular touch points, understanding their study status, key deliverables, challenges and how I can support. Within feasibility we are always looking at ways to optimize the site selection process by making data informed decisions and through process improvement. I’ve been involved in various initiatives to support new business awards, improve cross functional collaboration and enhance delivery.

What are the departments/positions Feasibility team collaborating with most frequently?

The Feasibility team touches several departments however those we work with most closely are Project Management, Clinical Operations, Site Alliance and Commercial Teams

How has Parexel supported your career growth?

Being Parexel-born and bred, I'm forever thankful for the opportunities to grow my career with Parexel. I've had supportive managers along the way and have learned so much from each and every one of them. Staying open-minded in my career journey and recognizing my own strengths and motivations have helped me progress to where I am today.

What kind of advice you’d give to people who’d like to join Feasibility team as a management level?

I started with a strong foundation in Clinical Operations which gave me insights into how feasibility can impact delivery. Feasibility is reliant on data and identifying risks so strong data, analytical and problem-solving skills are key along with excellent communication skills

What do you enjoy outside of work?

Spending time with my family and 3-year-old son. I love to travel when possible and explore different cultures and food! It might surprise some people but doing jigsaw puzzles relaxes me!
