Meet Yogita Thoke, Senior Biostatistician at Parexel
When Yogita Thoke introduces herself, she keeps it simple. She’s a biostatistician. Part of Parexel’s FSP Biometrics team. The kind of introduction that understates, quite significantly—what the work actually involves. Behind that description is over a decade of experience across global clinical trials, from the first concept sheet to the final clinical study report. Work that spans oncology, immunology, dermatology, and more. Collaborations with researchers, clinicians, writers, and regulatory experts—where precision isn’t a preference, it’s an expectation.
Read on to hear directly from Yogita about what this role looks like day to day, what drew her to Parexel, and what it takes to thrive in this field.
Today, in her role as a Senior Biostatistician at Parexel—a position she stepped into in December 2024—Yogita continues to bring that same expertise and perspective to every project. In simple terms, her work is about turning complex patient information into clear, reliable insights that guide meaningful medical decisions. As a biostatistician, she acts as the “translator” between raw data and the scientific teams who rely on it—ensuring that every analysis is rigorous, accurate, and ready to support regulatory submissions. Her contributions directly influence whether new treatments can move forward to help patients, making her role an essential bridge between medical research and real‑world therapies.
Why Parexel
When did you join Parexel, and why did you choose Parexel above our competitors?
I joined Parexel in December 2024. What drew me here was the company’s strong culture of flexibility and support. As a mother of a young child, the option to work remotely was invaluable—it allowed me to balance my professional responsibilities with family life. Beyond flexibility, Parexel’s collaborative environment, commitment to innovation, and focus on employee well-being made it stand out from competitors. I wanted to be part of an organization where I could grow my career while contributing to meaningful work that impacts patients worldwide.
What’s your favorite part of your day-to-day work that people might not expect?
What I really enjoy is the discussions with medical and clinical colleagues. Sometimes the concepts are tough to grasp at first, but when we ask them to explain using layman examples, it suddenly clicks. Those moments make complex problems easier to understand and remind me how powerful teamwork and clear communication can be.Culture and Collaboration
Can you describe a challenge you faced and how you overcame it with the support of your team?
One of the toughest challenges I faced was during a project where we had to run a sustained response analysis. The data was tricky. At first, it felt overwhelming, but with the support of my team and through many discussions with physicians and clinical experts, we broke the problem down step by step. We asked for layman examples to really understand the medical side, and that made the statistical approach much clearer. In the end, we delivered a strong analysis that the client and their cross‑functional teams appreciated. It was a proud moment because it showed how teamwork and persistence can turn a complex challenge into a big achievement.
What's the most significant thing you've learned from your colleagues at Parexel?
The biggest thing I’ve learned from my colleagues at Parexel is how much teamwork really matters. Everyone has different strengths, and when we share ideas and support each other, the work becomes smoother and the results stronger. I’ve also picked up how important it is to stay flexible - projects move fast, and watching how my teammates adapt while keeping the quality high has been inspiring.
How has Parexel supported your career development?
Parexel has really supported my career development by giving me the flexibility I need as a mother, while also providing opportunities to work on challenging projects. I’ve had the chance to collaborate with global teams, learn from medical and clinical experts, and tackle complex analyses that pushed me to grow. The culture here encourages asking questions, sharing ideas, and continuous learning, which has helped me build confidence and expand my skills. I feel like I’m not just doing a job, I’m developing as a professional every day.

Beyond the Job Title
What’s your favorite way to unwind after a long day?
Unwinding for me is simple- family smiles, especially from my little one and spouse, good music, and of course a scoop of ice cream
What’s a hidden talent or surprising skill you have that your colleagues might not know about?
A hidden talent my colleagues might not know about is that I love teaching little ones. Whether it’s helping my child learn something new or guiding kids in a fun way, I really enjoy breaking things down simply and watching them get excited when they understand. It’s a skill that keeps me patient and creative, even at work.
Additionally, I’m a pro at picking the best K‑dramas to binge.
What’s your favorite way to unwind after a long day?
When I was a kid, I wanted to be a police officer- I thought it would be amazing to protect people and keep things fair. Over time, I discovered how much I enjoy teaching little ones, breaking things down simply and watching their excitement when they ‘get it.’ Funny enough, both of those dreams connect to what I do now in clinical trials as a biostatistician. In a way, I’m still protecting people, by making sure the data is solid and treatments are safe. And I’m still teaching, whether it’s explaining complex analyses to colleagues or helping teams see the story behind the numbers. So even though I didn’t end up in uniform, those values of protection and guidance are very much part of my work today.
