Meet Yogeeta! Yogeeta shares her personal and moving story about returning to work after a career break and how Parexel has supported her with a 3-month sabbatical and organizing flexible working. Yogeeta re-excelled at Parexel!

• Can you introduce yourself to us?

Hello I am Yogeeta SurinderKumar, I live in India and am a Senior Document Quality Reviewer for the Medical Writing Services team.

• When did you join Parexel?

After a 3-year career gap due to marriage and childbirth, I joined Parexel as a Scientific Specialist in 2016. I was very enthusiastic and happy about my career at Parexel; however, in 2017 my kid was unwell and the doctors advised me to quit my job/career and completely focus on my kid during her initial developing years. 

• How did Parexel help?

I discussed this personal issue with a manager in Medical Writing Services, and she was a real ray of light. My manager worked with Parexel HR to arrange flexible working hours and work-from-home options for me so that I could stay at home and focus on my daughter's health and simultaneously focus on my career as well. I was granted a 3-month sabbatical to give all the care and attention that my daughter needed during that time.

• How did Parexel and your managers support you after your sabbatical?

After the 3-month sabbatical when I resumed work, given my personal situation, writing a document seemed more demanding, and then decided to switch to document quality review. I am so grateful that the Medical Writing Services management team believed in me, and my abilities, and that I was given the opportunity to transition to a Document Quality Reviewer role.

I am incredibly thankful to Parexel and consider myself fortunate to be a part of the Parexel family. I want to express my gratitude towards the various facilities and benefits that Parexel provides to its employees, these benefits motivate and encourage me to work daily.
