Key Accountabilities:

  • Solution Design and Development: Design and develop scalable Salesforce solutions that meet business requirements and align with best practices. Translate technical specifications into high-quality solutions by leveraging declarative tools (e.g., Flows, Lightning App Builder) and programmatic capabilities (e.g., Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components).

  • Integrations: Design, develop, and maintain robust Salesforce API integrations using REST, SOAP, and Bulk APIs to seamlessly connect Salesforce with external systems, ensuring efficient data exchange, real-time synchronization, and adherence to best practices for security and performance optimization.

  • Code Quality and Best Practices: Share technical knowledge and guide junior developers. Promote best practices to ensure high-quality and efficient development processes. Lead by example to inspire and motivate the team to achieve project goals.

  • Collaboration and Technical Expertise: Work closely with business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and provide technical insights. Offer expert-level Salesforce knowledge to address technical queries and contribute to successful project delivery.

  • Quality Assurance and Testing: Develop and execute comprehensive unit tests, participate in integration testing, and support user acceptance testing. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve defects to ensure high-quality deliverables that meet defined requirements and standards.

  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Stay updated on the latest Salesforce features, trends, and industry developments.  Research and propose innovative solutions for complex business problems, leveraging new Salesforce functionalities or third-party applications.

  • Technical Documentation: Own and contribute to technical documentation, including solution design documents, and technical specifications, ensure that development activities are well-documented for knowledge sharing and in support of future maintenance.

  • Technical Support and Issue Resolution: Provide technical support and troubleshoot any issues or incidents related to the Salesforce solutions. Analyze and resolve complex technical problems promptly, working closely with the support team and Salesforce technical support, if necessary.

  • Release Management:  Support sprint release deployments, ensuring smooth transitions from development to production environments. Sprint releases are scheduled on weekends once every 3 weeks.

Skills:

  • Strong Salesforce Expertise: In-depth knowledge and experience of Salesforce features and underlying functionalities in support of but not limited to the following products: Marketing Cloud (Pardot), Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and a range of AppExchange solutions. E.g. Contracts Lifecycle Management, Introhive, etc. This includes a deep understanding of Salesforce data model, security model, automation tools (e.g., Flow, Workflow rules), customization (e.g., Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Components), and integration capabilities (e.g., REST, SOAP, Bulk API).  

  • Solution Design and Architecture: Strong architectural and design skills to create scalable and maintainable Salesforce solutions. This includes understanding business requirements, translating them into technical specifications, and designing a solution that aligns with best practices, performance, and scalability considerations.

  • Integration and Data Management: Familiarity with integration techniques and patterns, including REST, SOAP, Bulk API, and experience in integrating Salesforce with external systems. Knowledge of data management tools like Data Loader, Workbench, and ETL tools to manage data imports, exports, and updates.

  • Deployment: Execute complex Salesforce deployments using change sets ensuring smooth transitions between environments (sandbox to production) while adhering to best practices for release management, including proper documentation, validation, and post-deployment testing to maintain system integrity and minimize disruption to business operations.

  • Experience in implementing with version control systems (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps) and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes would be preferred.

  • Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technical challenges and issues. Ability to debug code, analyze system behavior, and apply creative problem-solving approaches to deliver effective solutions.

  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, project managers, and business owners, to understand requirements, provide updates, and address technical queries.

  • Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban. Familiarity with Agile tools like Jira for project management and tracking.

  • Continuous Learning: Strong passion for learning new technologies, features, and best practices related to Salesforce. Keep abreast of the latest Salesforce releases, industry trends, and innovations to provide cutting-edge solutions.

  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively within a team environment, collaborating, supporting, and encouraging the success of individuals and the entire team. Flexibility to adapt to changing project priorities and requirements.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience on salesforce administration and development experience.

  • Experience in Salesforce development projects, designing and implementing solutions, and integrating Salesforce with external systems.

  • Experience with CRM (customer relationship management) software and working knowledge of a relational database design.

  • Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) software.

  • Knowledge of the full sales cycle from lead generation and request for proposal to the contract lifecycle (work orders to changes in scope).

  • Understanding of incident and problem management in a technology support environment.

  • Experience in healthcare, clinical development, or related field preferred.

Education & Certification:

  • Salesforce Administrator Certification (required).

  • Salesforce Advanced Administrator Certification (preferred).

  • Sales Cloud Consultant (preferred)

  • Salesforce Platform App Builder Certification (required).

  • Salesforce Platform Developer I (required)

  • Salesforce Platform Developer II (preferred).

  • Bachelor’s degree (required).
