Senior Database Administrator

We are currently recruiting a Senior Database Administrator to join our Data & Technology Team in the UK! This is an exciting opportunity to work with a new team within our IT group. In this position you will design, install, configure and upgrade our systems for efficient performance and security, and also troubleshoot and suggest solutions to improve functionality. This role will involve an element of 'on-call' need, given the global nature of our business.

You will have experience with:

MS SQL:

• Experience with SQL server Database Admin, Installation and Configuration on Azure and On-prem

• Experience with in Database Migration/Upgrade from On-prem to Azure SQL.

• High Availability and Disaster Recovery set up.

• Must have Azure Synapse Knowledge and hands on experience.

• Hands on Experience in Azure AD security, Vault, Backup, Restore.

• Should be able to handle and work upon performance issues related to database.

• Technical guidance for the team and adaptability toward new tools and technologies.

• Excellent operational and documentation knowledge.

Postgress SQL:

• Configuration of PostgreSQL DB as per the environment requirements.

• Troubleshooting PostgreSQL DB related issues.

• Performance tuning in DB level and identify performance related issue in queries.

• Experienced in daily DBA tasks monitoring, user request and maintenance.

• Handling backup, recovery, PITR replication.

• Upgrading/migrating to various PostgreSQL version.

• Configuring HA and DR setup for PostgreSQL DB.

• Experience in handling PostgreSQL in cloud platform.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science or related experience

• Certified Azure cloud database administrator

• 8+ years of progressive experience in database administration.

• Good communication in writing and speaking
