About this Role

We are looking to fill a Scientist II or III – Analytical Scientist position working as a full-time employee of Parexel FSP on long-term assignment onsite at one of our clients located in West Point, PA.  This position offers full benefits, sick time, 401K, paid holidays, and paid time off.  This role does not offer sponsorship.

Qualifications

  • Scientist 2 - B.S. in Chemistry or related field with 1-2 years of experience; M.S. with < 1 year

  • Scientist 3 - B.S. in Chemistry or related field with 3-5 years of experience; M.S. with 1-2 years

Required Skills and Experience

Experienced in analytical characterization techniques such as:

  • Reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC)

  • Plate-based analytical methods

  • Western blot, Simple Western, capillary electrophoresis

  • Sample preparation and handling

  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting

  • Waters, Sciex, or Agilent LC-MS instrumentation and software

  • Automated liquid handler: Bravo

  • Biophysical sample testing: particle size, thermal stability analysis, and light scattering

Responsibilities

Vaccines Analytical Support:

  • Sample preparations for routine analysis, including total protein, enzymatic digests, and electrophoresis.

  • Liquid Chromatography (LC) and Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) analysis of vaccine samples as needed.

  • Biophysical sample testing as needed, including particle size, thermal stability analysis, and light scattering

Provides General Lab support

  • General lab support, which may include; organization of pipette calibration, ordering lab supplies, general lab maintenance, organization of lab supplies/chemicals/consumables, shipping

Open Access and Instrument Support:

  • Checks instrument performance and suitability as needed, responds to end-user repair calls for Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) and troubleshoots/repairs simple issues such as leaks or clogs, submits/coordinates repair tickets for more complex issues

  • Maintains accurate documentation and records
