About This Role

Home Based, US (preference for East Coast)

The Partnership Enablement Director (supporting Parexel Biotech clients) is responsible for developing and maintaining the infrastructure to support commercial growth, consistent quality and profitable execution of our Biotech partnerships. CRO experience is required, along with a deep understanding of the drug development process. You will interface with stakeholders in Parexel to provide guidance and coordinate the modifications to the Parexel partnership model - primarily operational delivery processes and the underlying technology/data frameworks. Additionally, you will establish and maintain both internal and external governance of Parexel Biotech partnerships while sharing best practices and lessons learned with other members of the Biotech Partnership Enablement Office and across account teams.

Support Commercial Activity

  • Support the commercial account lead in the development of the partnership value narrative
  • Provide input into / write RFI/RFP content around partnering best practices and expertise
  • Create presentation material on partnership and governance best practices in support of new partnerships
  • Attend/support prep and Sponsor meetings, advising on / speaking to partnering models and implementation

Lead Cross-SBU Partnership Design and Build

  • Develop SME requirements and obtain SME support for the partnership
  • Project manage the development the build, implementation, maintenance and evolution of partnership model elements, including:
    • Operating Model (Playbook and operations manuals) including coordinating contributions by SMEs
    • Governance Framework, including development of charters
    • Partnership Metrics & Key Performance Indicators, including partnership scorecards
    • Technology landscape with SME contribution from the Client Technology Partner to outline the data and document flows
    • Training Plans (executed by Partnership Training Leads)
    • Partnership communications, surveys, shared platforms and engagement methods and tools
  • Coordinate workstreams to develop the above partnership elements
  • May be assigned as a workstream lead for Parexel liaising directly with Sponsor counterpart (and may include working with a lead from another CRO)
  • Participate in ongoing Sponsor meetings / collaborative workshops
  • Contribute to account planning particularly with regards to the overall schedule of work being managed to grow the partnership commercially

Support Cross-SBU Partnership Maintenance

  • Accountable for organizing and coordinating the maintenance and sustainability of the partnership model in partnership with commercial account lead and the operational account lead members including
    • Facilitation of ongoing partnership operating model evolution
    • Continuous improvement of partnership infrastructure, reporting, and communications
    • Adjustment of partnering / sourcing model
    • Support the periodic evaluation of the SME demand / engagement
    • Impact assessment of changes to the partnership model and its components
    • Relationship health surveys

Thought Leadership

  • Establish and maintain partnering best practices across all elements of partnership
    • Consult on and recommend models/approaches customized to fit Sponsor and Parexel needs
    • Establish, maintain and present externally and internally on partnering best practices
    • Partner with Corporate Marketing to create material to publish Parexel’s experience, success in partnering and differentiation in the external market

  • Comprehensive understanding of the principles of drug discovery and development
  • Ability to travel 10%-15%

Knowledge and Experience:

  • 12-15 years’ experience in late phase clinical research
  • 5-7 years’ experience managing clinical projects
  • Expertise in ICH-GxPs
  • Experience in how CROs and Pharma / Biotech can work together in different models, and the pros and cons of each model

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or other relevant experience required. Life-science or other health-related 
    discipline preferred.
  • Master’s Degree in a science, technology or industry-related discipline preferred.
  • PMP certification preferred
