About this Role

Parexel has an exciting opportunity for a VP, Clinical Operations to join our global team. This role includes responsibilities both in portfolio management as well as line management. The Vice President Clinical Operations - Regional Pillar Head leads a cross-region Clinical Operations Lead (COL) team ensuring that Parexel delivers quality projects to its clients and achieves agreed revenue margins.  The VP is accountable for the delivery and oversight of the clinical portion of a portfolio of Biotech Accounts.  The VP is also responsible for the regional strategy, for managing and developing staff and their performance, continuously striving for operational excellence, controlling the budget, and interacting directly with clients in a way that results in repeat business.

This leader will achieve results through their team of COLs and the implementation of effective methods of monitoring and driving performance across the portfolio of clients / projects. Successful delivery and oversight are measured by customer satisfaction, revenue, profitability, and new business growth.

Project Performance

  • Effectively monitor and drive team performance across the assigned portfolio to meet both client and Parexel’s expectations.

    • Achieve agreed client project milestones throughout the study Lifecyle

    • Deliver projects in a manner that meets Parexel’s revenue and profitability targets (e.g. Sold Margin)

  • Implement continuous improvement efforts and introduce innovative new approaches to achieve consistent performance across all regions.

Account Management

  • Ensure that our clinical project teams are employing effective account management practices to establish and maintain healthy client relationships.

  • Act as an escalation point for clients and proactively solve for client concerns.

Team Management

  • Managing and developing staff and their performance

  • Responsible for utilizing metrics to drive performance, productivity and resourcing.

  • Drive deliverables and use dashboards and metrics to analyze data and trends

  • Ensure appropriate management practices are in place (e.g., retention and development plans, succession planning) to retain staff and maintain project and business continuity.

  • Advanced ability to manage and motivate direct reports and wider team.

  • Knowledge of the International pharmaceutical market and the services required by sales, marketing and operational support to achieve product success

  • An ability to assess situations and make and carry through difficult decisions

Knowledge and Experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of clinical project management of global clinical trials

  • Strong command of written and spoken English language

  • Proven substantial leadership experience

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science, in scientific discipline preferred, advanced degree preferred.
