About this Role

We are currently hiring a Senior Manager, IT Operations to lead our Desktop Engineering team. The successful individual will ensure the Desktop Engineering team deliver best value services for the benefit of our clients, employees, and investors through the application of computer and communications technologies, along with innovations in information management, data collection and analysis, and integrated global processes.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure uninterrupted access to quality, efficient, high-performance Systems/Services for all functions at multiple Parexel locations.

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a global team of engineers in multiple geographic regions, giving direction on work assignments, expectations, and ensuring accountability.

  • Ensure resources are supporting the availability of essential mission critical systems and systems infrastructure within the area of responsibility.

  • Manage overall IT end user computing (EUC) functions including desktop engineering, desktop support, application packing, operations system deployments, patching, management, as well as hardware inventory and asset management.

  • Provide regular updates to senior IT leadership on the status of initiatives, roadmaps, and operational updates.

  • Supervise, and provide work direction for, Systems and/or Technical Support staff.

  • Manage budget forecasts and expenditures.

  • Work with IT leadership to promote and maintain standardization of computing environments across all Parexel worldwide locations.

  • Lead IT meetings to ensure service delivery targets and operational requirements are met and new requirements are being identified ahead of schedule (resource forecasts, new systems requirements etc.).

  • Possess solid level of understanding of technology within area of responsibility.

  • Ability to quickly identify problems and effectively implement solutions, as well as perform continuous process improvements.

  • Partner with other IT work streams throughout the organization, as well as business partners to gather feedback on the overall customer experience.

Education

  • College/University Degree in relevant technical discipline [e.g. Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering etc] or equivalent experience.

Minimum Work Experience

  • Experience in managing and leading a team, including formal employee processes such as performance appraisals, disciplinaries etc.

  • Experience in managing overall IT end user computing function/Desktop Engineering function.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Aptitude for managing team dynamics, ensuring objective and positive contributions through structured methods.

  • Excellent problem solving skills, with a proven track record of owning the problem and the solution.
